The Gurus, the Mountain and the Silence

Tales from Tiruvannamalai

Early in the year 2020, just a few weeks before the coronavirus pandemic hit India, I made my first journey to the southern part of the country, to visit the Sri Ramana Ashram in Tiruvannamalai, and climb Arunachala, the holy mountain on which the enlightened mystic, Ramana Maharshi, spent much of his life. I also met some of the gurus and satsang-givers who are popular in the area. These anecdotes are snapshots of my experiences during my stay. They have also been published in German under the title “Die Gurus, die Stille, und der Berg”.
